KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 25): MTD ACPI Engineering Bhd has set its sights on overseas markets as the local construction sector would be witnessing a tough year said its President and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Dr Azmil Khalili Khalid.

Apart from seeing a tough year ahead Azmil also noted that the market was very competitive and there were no major local construction projects in the near future.

"We are dependent on our parent company, MTD Capital Bhd, which is investing overseas and looking at projects in the countries that it is in. If they are successful, MTD ACPI, being the construction arm will get the construction business.

"Malaysia still remains a target market but we have to expand our horizon and go overseas, which is what we have been doing," said Azmil after the company's annual general meeting.
